Tino Livramento has been surprisingly dropped by Lee Carsley.
Tonight’s 8pm kick-off sees England play Germany with a place in the quarter-finals of the Under 21s Euros at stake.
Their final group match, England needing a point to make sure of a place in the last eight.
Tino Livramento was man of the match in the opening group game as the England Under 21s defeated the Czech Republic 3-1.
Then whilst those in attacking positions wasted chance after chance, the United defender once again one of England’s best players in a goalless draw with Slovenia.
However, Lee Carsley bizarrely leaving Tino Livramento out of this key match, dropped to the bench.
England team v Germany:
Beadle, Hinshelwood, Quansah, Cresswell, Iling-Junior, Anderson, Scott, Elliot, Nwaneri, Rowe, Hutchinson
Subs:
Simkin, Sharman-Lowe, Livramento, Edwards, Hackney, Fellows, McAtee, Norton-Cuffy, Gray, Egan-Riley, Stansfield, Morton
Slovenia play Czech Republic in the other Group B match tonight, also an 8pm kick-off.
If England beat Germany tonight, they will face Italy in the quarter-finals on Sunday. If England go through as runners-up then they face Spain on Saturday. Defeat for England tonight would obviously leave their progress dependent on what happens in the Slovenia v Czech Republic game.
This is how Group B looks before tonight’s matches, with the group winners and runners-up going through to the last eight.
In Group D earlier today, Will Osula was rested with Denmark already through to the last eight, where they will face France on Sunday 22 June in their quarter-final.
He came off the bench in the second half and got yet another direct goal involvement, an assist to put Denmark 2-0 up against Finland. The Danish defence creaked late on and allowed Finland to come back for a 2-2 draw.
However, Denmark still topped their group with the Netherland beating Ukraine to finish runners-up.
For Will Osula he has played 125 minutes this week in the three group games and scored three goals plus git two assists, on average a direct goal involvement every 25 minutes.
