With just days left in the transfer window, Fellows finally got his long-awaited move away from The Hawthorns, as he joined Championship rivals Southampton in a deal reportedly worth around £10m, which looks to be an absolute steal by all accounts.

This comes after the Saints lost two key players for big fees in recent days, with Mateus Fernandes and Tyler Dibling joining West Ham United and Everton respectively, for a combined fee of around £80m.

Will Still has now splashed the cash to get his squad back in the best possible stead after these two departures, and moved quickly to win the race for the highly-rated West Brom winger.

After putting pen to paper on his four-year contract at St Mary's, Fellows broke his silence when he spoke to the club's official website, relishing the excitement of his new chapter.

As is so often the case with the transfer market, the last 48 hours have been a whirlwind for Fellows, after Southampton quickly moved to agree a fee with West Brom to bring the 22-year-old to the south coast after the departure of Dibling.

Now the winger has been officially unveiled as a Saints player, he spoke to the club's official website after putting pen to paper on his deal, sending a statement of his ambitions to his new supporters.

Fellows told Southampton's club website: "It’s really exciting. It’s obviously a massive club and the ambition was clear to me: they want to get in the Premier League, and that’s a clear goal.

"I’m looking forward to a new challenge for me at a new club, so I’ve got to test myself again, and I’m looking forward to it," the new Southampton star concluded.

Tom Fellows is the ideal replacement for Tyler Dibling

The feel-good factor is still present around St Mary's, despite the sale of two of their biggest stars late into the window, as the club have moved quickly to secure adequate replacements, and actually secured a very good deal for the West Brom hotshot.

The £10m fee the Saints have reportedly paid for Fellows is a seemingly excellent price for a player who has been so consistent at Championship level, and certainly has a better output than Dibling, who departed for £40m just days ago.

Whilst the former Southampton star certainly has a higher ceiling than his replacement, Fellows also still has plenty of room to grow, and already comes with a wealth of experience under his belt. It definitely seems like this was the best possible option for Still's side.

Fellows' statements have now given Saints supporters a glimpse of what could be to come, and it's clear he shares the ambition of the club, as they also believe he can be a key component in helping them get back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
