Tommy Watson is attracting Championship loan interest after a difficult first season at Brighton, with Sky Sports reporting he is available for loan this summer.
Watson, 20, has struggled for minutes at the Amex. He scored on his debut in a 6-0 EFL Cup win over Oxford United, then joined Millwall on loan for the final months of the 2025-26 campaign.
He moved from Sunderland to Brighton last summer in a £10m deal. The Horden-born winger came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner against Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, completing Sunderland’s comeback and taking Régis Le Bris’ side back to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.
The transfer had been announced weeks before that Wembley final, and he officially joined Brighton on 1 June on a contract to 2029.
Watson progressed through Sunderland’s academy from under-nine level, made his senior debut in April 2023 against Huddersfield Town and signed a new three-year deal in September 2023 after a back injury. His breakthrough arrived in December 2024 with his first league goals in a 2-1 win over Stoke City.
