After a 2-2 draw with Hull on Tuesday confirmed Leicester’s drop to League One for only the second time in their history, chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha said in a statement he accepted responsibility and promised to take the decisions needed to move the club forward.
During the 90 minutes, home fans chanted for the board to be sacked. Protests then continued for more than an hour outside the King Power Stadium reception after the game.
His message offered no excuses and accepted that the club’s highest highs have given way to the lowest lows, with the pain shared by everyone.
He apologised for the disappointment caused and recognised the strength of feeling among supporters, stressing their backing is not taken for granted.
The focus now is on what comes next, with steps to rebuild, improve and restore the club’s standards. The objective is to respond strongly and compete again.
He closed by committing to face the situation head on and to keep going together.
