Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Radu Dragusin is closing in on a move to Fiorentina.
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Dragusin is scheduled to undergo a medical later today ahead of an initial loan move away from Tottenham.
The agreement also includes an obligation for the Italian club to make the move permanent if the Romanian international makes a certain number of appearances during the campaign.
Tottenham have agreed an initial €1.5 million (£1.3m) loan fee and will pocket a further €17.5m (£15m) if Fiorentina make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
Tottenham will also retain a 10 percent sell-on clause, allowing the club to benefit from any future transfer.
Former Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is reportedly spearheading Fiorentina’s move for Dragusin.
He was the driving force behind the Romanian defender’s initial move to Spurs, but he failed to establish himself.
Dragusin’s departure comes during a busy summer for Spurs as they continue to rebuild the squad.
The club has already strengthened their defence with the arrivals of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton & Hove Albion and Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth.
Those signings have increased competition at centre-back and made securing regular first-team football even harder for Dragusin.
Dragusin joined Tottenham with plenty of fanfare and expectations as one of the most promising defenders in Serie A at the time.
However, his progress at Tottenham was disrupted by a serious knee injury.
Dragusin was a regular starter between late October 2024 and January 2025, featuring in 21 of the club’s 22 matches across all competitions.
But his impressive run came to an abrupt end after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee, which kept him out for almost 11 months.
He returned to action in December 2025, but played back up to Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso.
