Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence is reportedly open to joining Liverpool.

Spence is not guaranteed a starting berth at Spurs next season, with Pedro Porro considered the club’s first-choice right-back.

The 25-year-old is also unlikely to start at left-back following the signing of Andy Robertson.

Liverpool struggled at right-back last season, with Jeremie Frimpong failing to impress and Conor Bradley missing a significant spell through a knee injury.

Bradley is injury-prone, while it remains to be seen whether Frimpong will recover his best form next season.

Liverpool are now considering a move for Spence to strengthen their right-back position. The Spurs defender can also play at left-back, adding to his appeal.

Tottenham would listen to offers of at least £35 million for the England international.

Spence featured regularly for the north London side last season, making 44 appearances across competitions.

He was named in the Three Lions’ squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He featured eight times and provided one assist at the tournament.

Liverpool should not make a move for the Spurs ace as he is not a significant upgrade on Frimpong and Bradley, although he had a better fitness record than the pair last term.

With the Reds also short of centre-backs, they are better served targeting a player capable of playing as a central defender and right-back.

Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa would be a better fit. His ability to play at both centre-back and right-back would provide Liverpool with greater tactical flexibility while also strengthening their defence.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with Konsa, who Villa value at around £60 million.
