‘Change for Tottenham’ want supporters to leave the stadium in protest in second half of Sunday’s Premier League match

Tottenham fans look set to escalate their protests against the club’s board, with organisers encouraging supporters to stage a walkout during Sunday’s Premier League game against Manchester City.

Spurs fans have continued to show their frustration this season with a range of issues including poor results, high ticket prices, transfer strategy and worsening injury woes.

‘Change for Tottenham’ organised a protest that took place ahead of the dramatic 2-1 home defeat by London rivals West Ham earlier this month, with fans gathering at Park Lane before kick-off and marching on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The group said that at least 300 descended on the ground, though onlookers suggested that figure was likely closer to 100.

Protests then continued inside the stadium, with some fans waving yellow banners reading ‘Time for Change’, plus flags and scarves in support.

More action is being planned for Sunday, when Tottenham host title-challenging Manchester City in front of the Sky Sports cameras in a 4:30pm GMT kick-off in the Premier League.

‘Change for Tottenham’ released details of their latest protest plans on social media on Tuesday evening, which included “encouraging all fans to leave the stadium” on the 75-minute mark and instead watch the rest of the game from a local pub.

They also plan to protest outside the South Stand from 4pm, encouraging fans to bring flags, scarves and banners while joining in with chants against ownership.

‘Change for Tottenham’ also want fans to continue chanting against ownership during the game itself as well as boycotting spending money inside the stadium, telling supporters not to “fund the failure”.

“The board will not listen to silence,” ‘Change for Tottenham’ wrote on X. “They will not listen to patience. They will only listen when matchgoing fans show visible, collective discontent. If we don’t act together inside the stadium, nothing changes.”

On the proposed walkout, they added: “This match is live on TV. The world will be watching. This would make a big statement.

“If the stadium empties, the message is undeniable. If we stay seated and quiet, the board will ignore us again.”

Spurs CEO Vinai Venkatesham recently penned an open letter to disgruntled fans, in which he said: “We know there is distance between the club and our supporters and we are committed to rebuilding that connection.”

The detailed update finished: “Tottenham Hotspur cannot exist without you, our supporters. We are built on the loyalty, passion and commitment of those who follow us, and we do not underestimate what supporting our club means.

“Your dedication matters deeply. Thank you for your ongoing support. We are determined to deliver a future that reflects it.”
