Former Tottenham striker Troy Parrott would be open to a sensational return to North London this summer, even if the club suffers a historic relegation to the Championship.

According to a report from Football London’s Alasdair Gold, the Republic of Ireland international remains deeply attached to his boyhood club and is eager for a second chance to prove his worth in a Spurs shirt.

Troy Parrott keen on Tottenham return

Following a late collapse in their 2-2 draw against Brighton last weekend, Roberto De Zerbi’s side remains languishing in 18th place with just five games remaining.

While the threat of playing second-tier football for the first time since 1977 looms large, it has reportedly not deterred Parrott from eyeing a homecoming.

The 24-year-old left Spurs for AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024 after struggling to break into the first team under previous regimes. However, distance has clearly not dimmed his affection for the club.

With Tottenham potentially needing a squad rebuild in the event of relegation, a move for a homegrown talent who understands the club’s DNA could be seen as a priority for the hierarchy.

Parrott has been a massive success since leaving Spurs

Since moving to the Eredivisie, Parrott’s career has reached new heights.

He has transformed into one of Europe’s most clinical young finishers, remarkably netting 50 goals in 92 appearances for AZ Alkmaar.

This season alone, he has scored 30 goals and assisted another 11 in 45 games across all competition, taking his overall career tally to 114 goals in 279 games.

His domestic form has been mirrored on the international stage, where he recently fired the Republic of Ireland into the 2026 World Cup play-offs with a stunning hat-trick against Hungary.

Tottenham notably inserted a 20% sell-on clause in his transfer to the Netherlands, which effectively gives them a significant discount on his current £22 million valuation.

Whether leading the line in the Premier League or spearheading a promotion charge in the Championship, bringing back a prolific striker would likely be a popular move.
