In a recent report, Gazzetta dello Sport mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs hoping to land Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. It has been stated that Spurs would have to rival Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the race to land the Serbian forward next year.

Vlahovic’s Impressive Form In Serie A

Vlahovic has enjoyed a good run of form at the Turn club in the campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old has banged in six goals and earned one assist in 14 appearances for Juventus this season in all competitions.

The Serbian talent has led the charge well for the Italian club and deserves credit for averaging 3.97 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 36.4% of his attempts on target. However, Vlahovic has to find a way to improve his ball distribution after completing just 69.8% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

Vlahovic is under contract at the Turin club until the end of this campaign. Hence, Spurs could potentially sign him on a free transfer next summer.

Will Vlahovic Be A Good Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?

Vlahovic is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer the odd chance for others around him in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Serbian forward is a good dribbler with the ball as well, but needs to find a way to improve his link-up play up top. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if Spurs manage to snap him up next year.

We can expect Vlahovic to enhance the quality of Tottenham boss Thomas Frank’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

At 25, Vlahovic has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for the North London club’s needs in the long run. However, Frank has to give him some time to settle into life in England. Still, Spurs would be wise to get a deal done for him next year.
