In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to move in for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo this summer. It is understood that Spurs are eyeing an €85m offer to secure the services of the Dutch wide player in this transfer window.
The 27-year-old struggled to find consistency at Liverpool last season but managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. Gakpo scored nine times and secured six assists in 52 matches for the Reds in the previous campaign on all fronts.
The Dutch sensation is currently among the most talented wingers in the Premier League. Hence, it is no wonder that Spurs are hoping to get a deal done for him this off-season.
Gakpo’s current contract at Anfield will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Gakpo can make a few driving runs with the ball on the offensive end of the field. He usually generates some power with his shot attempts from long range and has got the eye to set up some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The Dutch talent can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Gakpo is primarily a left-winger but can also fill in as a centre-forward if asked to do so. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club.
We can expect Gakpo to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s attack. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 27, Gakpo is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent option for Spurs to consider in this summer transfer window. He will also help the London giants get back to challenging for a European spot in the Premier League over the next few years. Hence, De Zerbi would be wise to go all out to get a deal over the line for him this off-season.
