In a recent report, La Repubblica (subscription required) stated that Tottenham Hotspur are facing tough competition for Inter Milan ace Yann Bisseck. It has been claimed that Spurs would have to rival Everton, Manchester United and West Ham United in the race to sign the German centre-back this summer.
Bisseck put in a string of impressive displays at the centre of Inter’s backline in the previous campaign. The 24-year-old made 46 appearances for the Italian club last season, finding the back of the net three times and earning three assists across various competitions.
The German centre-back made 17 tackles, 23 blocks and 17 interceptions in Serie A football. He was even tidy when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 91.8% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via fbref.com).
Bisseck is under contract at San Siro until the summer of 2029 which could make it difficult for Spurs to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Bisseck is a tough-tackling defender who can read the danger well to earn possession back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can play his way out from the back.
The Cologne-born talent can even use his strong 1.96m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Spurs manage to get him on board this summer.
We can expect Bisseck to bring more bite and steel to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank’s defence. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season.
At 24, Bisseck has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for Spurs to pursue in this summer transfer window. All in all, he will be well worth the fight. However, Frank has to be patient with his progress before he can get the best out of the talented defender.
