Tottenham Hotspur have identified AS Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche as a transfer target due to the asking price for Manchester City’s Savinho, according to the Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club want to bolster their attack, and while a deal for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is on the cards, head coach Thomas Frank wants one more player in the position.

Spurs have held talks to sign Savinho, but Man City want £60 million for the Brazilian, and they have now moved on to Akliouche.

The 23-year-old Frenchman, with ‘exceptional dribbling skills’, ended last term with seven goals and 12 assists in 42 appearances, and he scored in the 3-1 win over Le Havre at the weekend.

Akliouche bagged eight goals and four assists in 2023-24, and Tottenham have been impressed with his performances over the last two campaigns.

The France youth international right winger also boasts a great work rate, pressing ability, and game intelligence both on and off the ball, and Spurs need such a player.

Akliouche also plays centrally, and is a threat in counter-attack situations due to his pace.

He also contributes defensively, and his finishing and passing are some of his abilities which make him a solid player with huge potential.

Moving to the Premier League could appeal to the Monaco star, and Tottenham playing in the Champions League is also a plus for the North London club in their pursuit.

He has been unable to force his way into the star-studded French senior national team, but impressing in the English top-flight and elite European competition with Spurs could boost his chances.

This 2025-26 campaign is crucial for Akliouche if he wants to play in the next World Cup, and he may need to leave the Ligue 1 club for his dream to come true.

Tottenham could be offering him that opportunity, and talks are expected to take place between both parties in the coming days.
