18-year-old regarded as promising talent after joining City at eight
Tottenham are set to sign teenager midfielder Daniel Batty from Manchester City to bolster their academy numbers.
The 18-year-old underwent a medical on Thursday and is set to join the London club on a free transfer with various add-ons.
Batty joined City’s academy at Under-8 level and has progressed through the age groups.
He is widely regarded as a promising talent but is considered not ready for men's football and will compete for minutes in Spurs' academy teams.
Batty will be the second teenager to join Spurs this month after Min-hyeok Yang, who joined QPR on loan on Wednesday.
Spurs are also in talks to sign Bayern Munich's 19-year-old forward Mathys Tel, in a deal which could be worth around £50million.
The club are still waiting for the green light from the teenage forward, who also has interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa. Technical director Johan Lange has flown to Munich for further talks.
