A huge three points are on the line this afternoon as Tottenham host Nottingham Forest in a match which could have huge implications for the Premier League relegation battle. Spurs come into the tie sat 16th in the table, one point ahead of Vitor Pereira’s men, whose goal difference is all that separates them from 18th-place West Ham. With the Irons match away at Aston Villa kicking off simultaneously with Spurs and Forest’s, the relegation picture could be flipped on its head come sunset.
Igor Tudor’s Tottenham, though, come into the match on an upward trend. They battled to a deserved 1-1 draw at Anfield last weekend, and the Croatian secured the first win of his interim tenure last time out, pipping Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Forest were also in European action midweek, but required extra-time and penalties to knock Midtjylland out of the Europa League last 16.
Spurs will hope to take advantage of their leginess as they continue their fight to stay in the top-flight. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Dom Smith at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It is something of a surprise to see Xavi Simons benched after he scored a brace against Atletico in midweek.
Perhaps Tudor will be considering a super-sub role for the youngster, who has found consistent form hard to come by this campaign.

Another important relegation battle clash will take place simultaneously with this one, as West Ham visit Aston Villa. A win there would likely lift the Irons out of the relegation zone.
Later in the evening, Standard Sport will bring you comprehensive coverage of the Carabao Cup final between Arsenal and Manchester City, with kick-off at Wembley pencilled in for 4.30.

“After the game [vs Atletico], there was a beautiful sensation, feeling of togetherness with the fans. Very rare.
“I felt this enjoyment, I enjoyed feeling the sensation that we are doing good on the pitch, but together with them, together with the fans. That was really nice, rare.
“We need to continue all together this, if we can say, small positive moment after two games where we can recognise small but important things for the squad.
“Yeah, there is a positivity, but also understanding the game [vs Forest], it is not easy. So, important game, but probably it will not decide anything after the game, independent of the results. We just need to keep going on what we did in the last two games.”
