The Slovenian club NK Maribor has officially announced the signing of Ivorian international Jean-Michaël Seri, aged 34, following a brief stint with Saudi side Al-Orobah.
The midfielder has signed with Maribor on a two-year deal, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
This transfer is a fantastic opportunity for Seri to get back into match rhythm after the serious injury he suffered last October with the Ivorian national team during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
Cem Başgül, NK Maribor's director of football operations, commented:
"We are delighted to welcome Jean Michaël Seri to NK Maribor. Seri has been a key player in some of the world's top leagues, and his experience will bring strength and leadership to the team. His composure, combined with his technical skills and leadership qualities, will have a positive impact on the squad on the pitch and help us achieve our goal, which is to play the football we want."
Currently, Maribor sits fifth in the league table with 11 points after seven rounds in a ten-team competition.
