Transfer news LIVE!
The second summer transfer window is heating up nicely now we’ve entered July, with plenty of major deals being worked on. Arsenal are in talks over a huge move for Eberechi Eze, having also taken an interest in Hugo Ekitike amid the ongoing stalemate over Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres. The Gunners are said to have made a new offer for Cristhian Mosquera amid fresh links to Nico Williams and Morgan Rogers, with Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga all joining.
Manchester United are believed to have made contact over Ollie Watkins in case Rasmus Hojlund leaves, though been warned that Bryan Mbeumo could yet stay at Brentford. Chelsea are preparing to seal the signings of both Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens after medicals, though it appears that will not stop them from rivalling Tottenham for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.
Liverpool look to have been handed a major new boost over Alexander Isak as they ready an offer for Marc Guehi that could involve a player going the opposite way in part-exchange, while Richarlison is poised to leave Spurs for a move overseas. The Blues have agreed a deal with Brighton for the Brazilian forward worth £55m up front plus a further £5m in add-ons.
Pedro has flown to Chelsea’s Club World Cup camp in the United States in order to sign a seven-year contract valid until 2032.
Fabrizio Romano now reports that the former Watford star, also a major transfer target for Newcastle this summer, has successfully undergone a medical.

More now on Arsenal’s high-profile pursuit of Eberechi Eze.
Last week came the news that the Gunners were set to rival Tottenham for the signing of the Crystal Palace and England star, who is believed to have a £68m release clause written into his current contract at Selhurst Park.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Eze is indeed high on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist but no contact has yet been made with Palace.
He says they would like to strike a deal worth less than that aforementioned clause and interestingly adds that the swoop would be separate to their pursuit of a new winger (and striker) this summer.
It is said that no other team currently has the same level of interest in Eze, so it doesn’t look like Tottenham are making a move at the moment.

Staying with Arsenal for a moment, have they been handed fresh hope over Nico Williams?
The Gunners are long-time admirers of the Spain forward, who had looked poised to swap Athletic Club for LaLiga rivals Barcelona this summer despite rival interest from Bayern Munich.
A deal looked all but done amid reports of a verbal agreement between Williams and Barca on a long-term contract.
However, Mundo Deportivo now report that the move has stalled due to disagreements between the camps.
Could that open the door for Arsenal?

Arsenal have reportedly tabled a new offer for Cristhian Mosquera.
News of the Gunners’ interest in Valencia’s Spanish centre-back first emerged last week, when an initial €14m bid for his services was rejected.
But according to Las Provincias in Valencia, Arsenal have returned with a second approach for Mosquera worth €20m that should be accepted.
They are already said to have agreed on personal terms with the 21-year-old defender.

Liverpool look to have been handed a major boost over Alexander Isak.
The chances of the prolific Sweden striker leaving Newcastle this summer previously looked non-existent, much to the annoyance of long-term suitors Arsenal.
But links to Liverpool have been persistent of late, with Arne Slot looking for a new top-level centre-forward to complement the club-record arrival of Florian Wirtz as Darwin Nunez prepares to move on.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Isak wants to leave Newcastle in this window and has told them as such.
Meanwhile, Graeme Bailey reports that a fee of between £120m-£130m could be enough to get the deal done.

Chelsea remain interested in Mohammed Kudus despite the imminent signings of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, reports claim.
It’s been a busy time for the Blues, who are poised to welcome both Brighton forward Pedro and Borussia Dortmund winger Gittens to Stamford Bridge for a combined total of around £105m after medicals, adding to the earlier signings of Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr.
You would have thought that those latest arrivals would likely now rule Chelsea out of the running for Kudus, but they remain firmly in the race, per Sky Sports.
Tottenham - also keen on Eberechi Eze, Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo - also want the Ghana star, who is believed to have rejected a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia and have an £85m release clause in his current Hammers contract that applies to Premier League clubs only in the first 10 days of July.
It is also said that Newcastle want Kudus if they can’t prise Anthony Elanga away from Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United appear to have their sights set on Ollie Watkins if they sell Rasmus Hojlund this summer.
Hojlund has largely flattered to deceive at Old Trafford since his high-profile £72m move from Atalanta two summers ago and is now being linked with a return to Serie A with Inter Milan.
According to The Athletic, Manchester United want Watkins if the Danish international departs and talks have already taken place between intermediaries as the Red Devils ponder their forward options, having also been linked with the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal are said to be in talks over a huge move for Eberechi Eze.
Standard Sport reported last week that Crystal Palace’s FA Cup final hero had been added to a winger transfer shortlist at the Emirates Stadium that also includes Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon at Newcastle.
Now multiple outlets including The Guardian claim that Arsenal have entered talks with Eze’s camp to discuss a potential transfer.
However, they add that discussions are not yet underway with Crystal Palace regarding a fee for the England international.

If his performances in the Club World Cup were anything to go by, Lionel Messi could certainly still cut it at the highest level in Europe.
However, a return to Europe looks unlikely even though he is into the final six months of his deal with Inter Miami.
According to reports, both parties have entered talks over a new contract.
It is understood that the intention from both sides is to extend his stay at the club and to be part of the new stadium project Miami Freedom Park.

Brentford Director of Football Phil Giles says he hopes to have two members of Keith Andrews’s backroom staff in place this week, writes Sam Tabuteau.
Speaking at the unveiling of Andrews as Brentford head coach, Giles said the club were looking at internal and external options to fill the four vacant backroom staff roles.
Following the departure of long-serving head coach Thomas Frank to Tottenham, first-team assistant coach Justin Cochrane, head of performance Chris Haslam and analyst Joe Newton left Brentford to join the Dane in north London.
Assistant Claus Norgaard also departed, leaving Brentford needing to make four new appointments to support Andrews as he embarks on his first head coach role.
