Transfer news – Lyon make progress on Noham Kamara, but could be overtaken

Noham Kamara, a 19-year-old defender under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2028, has been reported as set to leave during this winter transfer window. There has notably been talk of discussions with Olympique Lyonnais. Foot Mercato confirms this trend, but points out that Bayer Leverkusen still has a say in the matter.

According to the latest information from RMC Sport, which we are able to confirm, OL and Kamara have reached a contractual agreement. The two clubs have also agreed in principle on a loan with a mandatory purchase option. However, as of the time of writing, nothing has been finalized yet. For their part, Leverkusen is ready to buy the Meaux native.

This could be a major “battle” on this final day of the transfer window, with two interesting options for Kamara. At Lyon as well as at Bayer Leverkusen, there is hope of gaining playing time and visibility. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. So, anything is still possible. The Parisian youth product could even ultimately stay in Paris. Which could be unfortunate, as there doesn’t seem to be a spot for him in the first team at the moment. The next few hours could be hectic. In France and Germany, the transfer window closes at 8 p.m.
