FC Bayern are apparently looking again at the market for defensive reinforcements, with an old acquaintance coming into focus: Evan N’Dicka. The AS Roma central defender could become an issue in the summer.

The name Evan N’Dicka is no stranger to Munich. The former Frankfurt man has already been linked with a move to the Isar in the past. Now, according to Transferfeed, the 26-year-old is once again the focus of those responsible.

The Ivorian international is currently under contract at AS Roma, where he is a permanent fixture. The centre-back has played 24 games in Serie A this season, scoring three goals and mostly featuring in the starting eleven.

The main reason for the new speculation is the financial situation at Roma, which could force the club to sell players by the end of June in order to meet UEFA’s requirements. Such a move would make a transfer in the summer much more likely.

Competition from Spain in the mix

In addition to FC Bayern, other top clubs are also interested in the defender. FC Barcelona in particular are monitoring the situation surrounding N’Dicka and are looking at him as a potential defensive reinforcement. The left-footer is on a list of several candidates for central defense at Barcelona. His consistent performances and his development since moving to Italy have once again brought him into the focus of international clubs.

The move comes as no surprise to Munich, who are keeping an eye on the market to be able to react to potential opportunities despite their current central defensive line-up. With Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan, the central defence has been solid this season, but there has been constant speculation about the future of Minjae Kim in particular. N’Dicka could take on his role as a substitute in the event of a potential departure.
