Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that defender Trevoh Chalobah (26) will be sidelined for around six weeks, alleviating fears of a far more serious injury, as reported by Sky Sports.

Chalobah was stretchered off during Chelsea’s recent encounter with Paris Saint-Germain, with initial concerns suggesting a potentially severe ankle problem. The nature of the incident prompted widespread alarm, but subsequent assessments have delivered a more optimistic outlook.

Rosenior admitted the situation appeared troubling in the immediate aftermath. “It wasn’t until later after the game that I saw the image,” he said. “Then everyone saw it and you’re really worried.

While the injury will still rule Chalobah out for a significant period, the Chelsea manager stressed that the prognosis is far less severe than first feared. “It’s never good to hear that Trevoh is out for any period of time,” Rosenior added, “but fortunately it’s nowhere near as serious as first feared.”

The 26-year-old’s absence represents a setback for Chelsea at a demanding stage of the season, though the relatively short recovery timeline offers encouragement.

But where we were a couple of days ago,” Rosenior concluded, “we’re in a better place than what we thought.
