14 players from Liverpool’s title-winning side will be lifting the Premier League trophy for the very first time in their careers.
It includes the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Kostas Tsimikas, Luis Díaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Ibrahima Konaté, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, Darwin Núñez, Federico Chiesa, Conor Bradley, Vitezslav Jaroš, and Jayden Danns.
It’s a massive deal for all of them, but it’s especially big for Szoboszlai and Tsimikas, who’ve both made a bit of national football history.
Szoboszlai’s the first Hungarian ever to win the Premier League, and Tsimikas is the first Greek to manage it too.
That now brings the total to ten nationalities with just one player who’s bagged a Premier League winners' medal since the league kicked off in ’92: Chile, Greece, Guinea, Hungary, Latvia, Liberia, Morocco, Romania, Senegal, and South Africa.
As for Italy, Mario Balotelli’s still the only one to have officially won it under the five-game rule - though Chiesa’s only one match away from joining him.
