Igor Tudor explains the somewhat surprising decisions as Juventus take on Bologna in a direct battle for fourth place. ‘They have strengths and weaknesses, so do we.’

It kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT, 20.45 CET).

The Bianconeri leapfrogged Bologna into fourth place last week, so this is a huge battle for Champions League qualification in an increasingly tight race.

Several big changes are forced, because Kenan Yildiz begins his two-match ban, with Dusan Vlahovic, Teun Koopmeiners, Federico Gatti, Lloyd Kelly, Arek Milik, Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal injured.

Tudor leaves Francisco Conceicao out again

“I have to make the choices I think are best. I saw the lads fired up, ready and eager to respond to Bologna, because we know their playing style. It will be a wonderful game to play,” Tudor told DAZN.

Weston McKennie is moved into yet another new role, this time along with Nico Gonzalez supporting Randal Kolo Muani, while Nicoló Savona is a makeshift central defender.

“Kolo Muani attacks the space, but we need all 11 players to give their contribution and make as few mistakes as possible. Bologna have their strengths and weaknesses, so do we. We’ll see what happens on the field.”

Juventus have had a difficult couple of weeks, as after the 1-0 defeat to Parma, they scraped a 2-0 victory over rock bottom Monza when down to 10 men, as Kenan Yildiz was sent off.

“We had some problems missing players, but there will always be 11 plus five off the bench. These are enormously important games, but not decisive, so we’ll see,” concluded Tudor.
