Following Turkey’s 3-1 win over Hungary, Hakan Calhanoglu shared his thoughts on Arda Guler’s current situation at Real Madrid, expressing his belief that the young midfielder deserves more game time.
It must be noted that Guler, who was suspended for last night’s match, remains a highly regarded talent in Turkish football, and his lack of opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti has been a point of discussion in his home country.
“Arda is a very important player; he’s like a little brother whom I love very much,” Calhanoglu said as quoted by MARCA.
“I would like him to come and play with us at Inter, although I don’t know if this is true,” he added, addressing rumours linking Guler with a move to Serie A this summer.
The 31-year-old Inter Milan midfielder admitted that he does not know the full details of Guler’s situation at Real Madrid but believes the youngster deserves more minutes.
“I don’t want to get too involved because, in the end, he knows more. But of course, I believe he should be playing more,” Calhanoglu insisted.

Even Turkey’s national team coach, Vincenzo Montella, was asked about Guler’s development after the match.
“He’s improved a lot in terms of attitude and character. He’s learned to fight and compete, and he’s here with us because he has exceptional talent,” Montella said.
Despite being one of the brightest young stars in Turkish football, Guler is still searching for his place in Real Madrid’s squad.
In Turkey, where he is considered a national idol, fans continue to question why he has not been given more opportunities by Ancelotti.
With Inter Milan reportedly interested, Guler’s future at Real Madrid remains uncertain.
A loan move appears to be the most likely solution, allowing him to gain valuable playing time before returning to compete for a place at the Santiago Bernabéu.
