Two key Real Madrid stars to be left out of squad to face Real Sociedad | OneFootball

The coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid do not intend to afford call-ups to two of the club’s most high-profile stars, for their upcoming meeting with Real Sociedad.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Federico Valverde and Thibaut Courtois as the pair in question.

Real Madrid are of course primed to return to action on Wednesday night.

Shifting focus back towards the Copa del Rey, Los Blancos will make the trip to Anoeta, for a semi-final first-leg showdown with the aforementioned Real Sociedad.

In efforts to carve out an advantage to take back to the Spanish capital, however, two star members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad will play no part.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘Fede Valverde and Thibaut Courtois will rest against Real Sociedad. The idea is that neither of them travel with the team to San Sebastian.’

Both midfielder Valverde and goalkeeper Courtois, it is added, have been ‘suffering from discomfort’ over recent weeks, therefore set to be given the night off on Wednesday to recover full fitness.
