Two Lyon fans injured in Vigo after violent clashes with Celta ultras | OneFootball

Two Lyon supporters were injured in violent clashes in Vigo overnight, ahead of Thursday’s Europa League last-16 first leg against Celta Vigo at 9pm.

According to Faro de Vigo, police sources said the confrontation began around 11.30pm when about 50 Celta ultras arrived at the Twenty Century Rock bar in the city centre, where around 30 Lyon fans had gathered.

Masked and carrying sticks, the group attacked, forcing the French supporters to retreat inside and barricade the entrance. The bar’s doors were badly damaged and flares were thrown into the premises.

After several minutes, police and medics reached the scene. Authorities reported three injured, two Lyon supporters with head cuts evacuated by ambulance, and a bar security guard with a cheek injury.

Around 600 Lyon supporters are expected in the city.
