Darwin Nunez isn’t the shy and retiring type on the football pitch and that was very much evident during a very dramatic evening for his country.

With Colombia equalising to make the scoreline 2-2 in the 96th minute, it seemed like the game was over but Uruguay scored an unlikely winner on the next attack.

Our striker made himself a nuisance in the box and aided the scoring of the goal but it was what came after it hit the back of the net that is likely to attract more attention.

The 25-year-old ran to the face of the opposition defender as he celebrated the goal, what makes that even more notable is that it was Yerry Mina – the former Everton player.

To be fair to the former Toffee, there wasn’t much of a reaction but it was clear that this was bubbling during what was a feisty South American affair.

Given that our No.9 was soon throwing himself over advertising boards, it was clearly a goal he enjoyed going being a part of!

We can be thankful that Luis Diaz didn’t take any exception to these celebrations either, as the love was certainly still very much present between them at full-time.

Marcelo Bielsa always seems to be able to get the best out of our man and, despite the striker not getting himself on the score sheet, it’s clear he’s enjoyed his latest game under his leadership.

Now Arne Slot will be hoping for a less dramatic match against Brazil later in the week and that the former Benfica man can keep himself out of trouble!
