There have been growing signs in recent weeks that Leon Goretzka will leave FC Bayern at the end of the season, but Sport BILD reports that it is still possible that he will remain at the Isar
Leon Goretzka has once again put himself in the international spotlight with a strong performance in the DFB jersey. One top club in particular is likely to have been keeping a close eye on the Bayern star’s performance – Juventus Turin. But despite the Italians‘ interest, a winter departure is not on the cards.
Leon Goretzka put in one of his best performances of the World Cup qualifiers in the German national team’s 6-0 win over Slovakia. The 30-year-old was more attack-minded than usual, repeatedly joining in the attacks and setting up the 2-0 with a beautiful pinpoint pass to Serge Gnabry. It was the kind of move we remember from his strongest Bayern days – dynamic, precise, intelligent.
Such performances do not go unnoticed internationally. As the Italian newspaper Leggo reports, Juventus Turin are planning to sign Goretzka this winter. Juve boss Damien Comolli is hoping for a bargain transfer, as the midfielder’s contract expires after the season. The „Old Lady“ is speculating that Bayern would still like to collect a transfer fee in January.
But this plan is likely to fail.

According to Sport BILD, Goretzka’s premature departure in the winter is not an issue – not for Bayern and not for the player himself. Even an offer in the region of ten million euros would not be up for discussion. This also puts paid to interest from Turkey: Fenerbahce, trained by German coach Domenico Tedesco, had been considering a winter deal. As Goretzka and Tedesco know each other well from their time together at Schalke, the club was considered a possible candidate.
However, Goretzka does not want to leave Bayern in the winter.
Munich are planning differently: despite the midfielder’s unclear role – and although he has recently lost his regular place in Munich – those responsible are not ruling out an extension in principle. However, only under clear conditions. Goretzka would have to accept a significant drop in salary. The Bayern star currently earns around €17 million per year – a sum that the club no longer wants to pay at this level.
The crucial question now is: what will happen in the summer? According to Sky, there have been no talks between the club and the player so far, partly because other players such as Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry, Konrad Laimer and Manuel Neuer have a higher priority.
Concrete negotiations are therefore not planned until the new year.
