Qualifying for the round of 16 as leaders of Group C, Senegal stood out as the only team not to concede a single goal in this U17 World Cup.
After a goalless draw against Croatia (0-0), Senegal followed up with two victories over Costa Rica (1-0) and the United Arab Emirates (5-0). The Lion Cubs relied on their goalkeeper Vincent Gomis, who delivered three clean sheets.
Behind Senegal, several teams conceded just one goal, namely Italy, Japan, Croatia, Colombia, Brazil, the United States, France, and Austria.
