U21s Preview: Everton vs Leeds United | OneFootball

Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action on Friday, with a trip to Southport’s Big Help Stadium to face Everton Under-21s.

Without a victory in the league since an impressive 1-0 result on the road at Nottingham Forest, the Whites head into the clash on Merseyside looking to recapture the form that had seen them pick up five consecutive wins in all competitions.

Victory by two goals will see Scott Gardner’s side leapfrog their opponents who sit just three points above them in the table.

With last weekend’s PL2 clash with Manchester United falling foul of the weather, the Whites’ record remains at three wins and three draws from their opening 10 matches.

Drawing 1-1 away at Leicester in their final fixture before Christmas, the Toffees also have two victories to their name in their previous five encounters, triumphing over local rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby before dismantling Stoke City 4-1 on home soil.

The two teams met towards the end of last campaign at Thorp Arch where, after falling behind early on, Charlie Allen’s equaliser for United ensured the points were shared in West Yorkshire.

Action from The Big Help Stadium gets underway at 7pm.
