The Turkish club Galatasaray hosts their English counterparts Liverpool FC on Tuesday evening at Ali Sami Yen RAMS Park in Istanbul, for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

Galatasaray reached this stage after knocking out Juventus FC in the qualification play-off. On the other hand, Liverpool secured their spot in the round of 16 directly after finishing third in the group stage, according to the competition’s new format.

Meanwhile, UEFA has appointed Spanish referee Jesús Gil Manzano to officiate this clash, assisted by compatriots Guadalupe Porras Ayuso and Ángel Nevado Rodríguez, while Juan Martínez Munuera will serve as fourth official.

Kick-off for this encounter is scheduled for 17:45 (GMT).
