The UEFA Champions League kicked off on Tuesday night, featuring an impressive away victory for Qarabag over Benfica (2-3) and a thrilling draw between Juventus and Dortmund (4-4).
There are eight Senegalese players in the running for the 2025-2026 Champions League. Let’s meet them.
Union Saint-Gilloise caused a sensation by defeating PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands (1-3). Ousseynou Niang was named in the starting eleven, while his compatriot Mahamadou Barry remained on the bench.
Pape Matar Sarr contributed to Spurs’ victory over Villarreal (1-0). He was substituted by João Palhinha in the 69th minute. On the other side, Pape Gueye also started and was replaced by Dani Parejo in the 78th minute.
Nicolas Jackson’s highly anticipated debut for Bayern Munich will come against his former Chelsea teammates, while Lamine Camara will travel to Bruges on Thursday with AS Monaco.
Youssoupha Mbodji faces Bodo/Glimt this Wednesday with Slavia Prague. Finally, Ismaïl Jakobs heads to Frankfurt with Galatasaray.
