Super Eagles have progressed to AFCON knockout phase with a game to spare
Nigeria and Uganda face off in the concluding Group C fixture at the Africa Cup of Nations for both sides.
The Super Eagles have already clinched a place in the knockout phase, as group winners, after holding on for all three points against Tunisia at the weekend.
Goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman had Eric Chelle’s side cruising with just over 20 minutes left to play but Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi reduced the deficit to set up a grandstand finish.
Ultimately, Nigeria survived the late scare and will look to maintain their 100 per cent winning record at this year’s AFCON ahead of their round of 16 showdown.
Uganda go into the game bottom of the table after Allan Okello’s penalty miss in stoppage time cost them all three points against Tanzania and must beat the Super Eagles to have any hope of reaching the last-16.
Uganda vs Nigeria is scheduled for a 4pm GMT kick-off on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
The match will take place at the Fez Stadium.
TV channel: Every match of the tournament will be broadcast across Channel 4’s network.
The game will be broadcast on 4seven, with coverage starting at 3.55pm GMT ahead of kick-off at 4pm.

Uganda have no other option but to go on the attack against Nigeria as while a victory may not be enough for a runners-up spot, it would place them in contention to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams.
As a result, Uche Ikpeazu could be handed his start at the tournament after scoring as a substitute against Tanzania.
Nigeria were superb for 70 minutes against Tunisia. However, the closing stages may have given Chelle some food for thought regarding his team selection.
There are calls for goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to be rested after a shaky display at the weekend, while Ryan Alebiosu, Muhammed Usman and Tochukwu Nnadi will hope this dead-rubber affords them a first senior cap.
Nwabali, Osimhen, Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman are one booking away from missing the round of 16 tie.

It is difficult to look past Nigeria for this one, but stranger things have happened and the fact qualification for the last-16 and top spot in Group C is already secured does raise the prospect of a shock result.
Even so, we expect the Super Eagles to be far too strong for Uganda as their firepower should secure a third straight win in the group phase.
Nigeria to win, 3-0.
Uganda have not lost to Nigeria in the last three meetings between the two nations.
Uganda wins: 4
Nigeria wins: 2
Draws: 2
Uganda to win: 12/5
