Unax del Cura makes rapid leap from Tercera to Segunda with Mirandés | OneFootball

Unax del Cura, 21, has stepped up swiftly from Tercera Federación to Segunda with Mirandés, making an immediate impact.

As reported by as.com, he came through Padura before joining Villarreal, where he impressed at youth level. After a loan at Lleida he left last summer for Mirandés’s reserve side, scoring seven in 22, with Antxón Muneta tracking his progress.

He debuted against Cádiz three matchdays ago, and between David Gil and the crossbar he was denied a goal.

A week later Muneta handed him a first start and he responded by heading in against Real Valladolid.

In the last outing at Córdoba he entered at half-time, won a penalty, then set up Carlos Fernández to level a game that had been 2-0. He felt the point was valuable and hopes it can help them in the next match.

While his present is with Mirandés, his longer-term future remains open. His focus is Tuesday’s visit of Albacete, which opens matchday 33 at Anduva, and he says they need to go for it with the crowd behind them.
