During the summer transfer window, Roma had a new midfielder among their targets, and among the names the Giallorossi were considering was Manchester United player Kobbie Mainoo.
According to the Daily Mail, in addition to the Giallorossi, five other clubs were also interested in the player.

Roma, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Everton, Marseille, and Napoli had all made loan proposals for the young midfielder.
Mainoo himself wanted to leave the Red Devils on loan, but the British club refused, and he remained in Manchester.
