Manchester United could compete with Bayern Munich to sign one of the Bundesliga’s best strikers, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
The Red Devils have been disappointing in front of goal this campaign. They have netted just nine goals in their first 10 Premier League games.
Bayern are reportedly eyeing a new striker to provide cover for Harry Kane, and Benjamin Sesko is one of the candidates.
The German giants will likely face competition from the Red Devils.
United are not actively looking to sign another striker at the moment, but the scenario could change next summer depending on performances this term.
Joshua Zirkzee looks the most likely candidate to be sold. Incoming manager Ruben Amorim has already decided to part ways with him.
This could open the door for a marquee striker signing, but the big question is whether Sesko would be preferred by the incoming manager.
The £67 million star has netted 25 goals since joining Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last year.
The Slovenian comes with a huge reputation and could improve with age. He can be ‘one of the best in the world’ as described by BBC Sport before the 2024 European Championship.
However, Amorim could lean towards an experienced and familiar option in the form of Viktor Gyokeres, who could be available for around £63 million next summer.
The Swede has been sensational for Sporting, scoring 63 goals in 66 outings in the last 18 months. Amorim may prefer a reunion with the 26-year-old.
