Allan Saint-Maximin smashed in the equaliser in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time, earning Lens a 3-3 draw at Brest. The substitute's late strike capped a high-impact cameo.
Introduced in the 53rd minute, Saint-Maximin immediately gave Lens width and incision. He soon picked out Adrien Thomasson with a teasing cross, the header flashing wide (71.).
His threat grew. He fed Mamadou Sangare for a shot that Grégoire Coudert tipped over (76.), then rattled the left post from range (80.).
The moment came deep into stoppage time. Saint-Maximin gathered on the outside and drilled low into the bottom right, punishing Brest. He then created one more chance, crossing for Odsonne Edouard's header that was saved.
The 29-year-old finished with two attempts, three successful dribbles and three key passes, plus two accurate crosses from three, underlining how his ball-carrying and delivery bent the tie Lens' way.
Lens remain second in Ligue 1 and visit Nice next. Brest rise from 12th to 10th and travel to Paris FC next.
