Upamecano ‘agrees’ new Bayern contract to 2030

Dayot Upamecano has accepted Bayern Munich’s proposal for a contract extension to 2030, according to Fabrizio Romano, Sky Germany and Bild.

The reports put the salary at around €20 million a year, with a €20 million signing bonus and a €65 million release clause active from 2027.

Bild adds that the final sticking point concerned the structure of the signing bonus, with Upamecano’s representatives preferring a lump sum and Bayern wanting to spread payments across the deal.

The same report says Bayern let an internal deadline pass and formally withdrew the offer in writing, after which Upamecano’s camp approached the champions to confirm their willingness to extend.

An official announcement is expected soon.
