In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano offered an update on the future of Arsenal wide player Leandro Trossard. It is believed that the Gunners are not planning to cash in on the Belgian winger despite speculation surrounding his long-term future at the North London club.

Trossard’s Impressive Form In North London Last Season

Trossard served as a useful squad player for Mikel Arteta‘s side in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive displays for them on the left flank. The Belgian sensation registered ten goals and grabbed ten assists in 56 appearances for the Gunners last season across all competitions.

The 30-year-old was a decent contributor in the final third as he averaged 2.55 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 29.2% of his attempts on target. Trossard was even careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half, based on his pass completion rate of 74.5% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the North London club will expire in the summer of 2027. Thus, Arteta is under no immediate pressure to cash in on him.

Arsenal Are Not Planning To Let Trossard Leave This Summer: Good Move For Mikel Arteta?

Trossard is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. He can strike the ball with venom from long range.

The Belgian sensation is primarily a left-winger but can also serve as a centre-forward if asked to do so. He has got a lot of experience in the Premier League and could be a real asset for the Gunners this season.

Trossard is currently not a regular starter at the North London club. Thus, it makes sense for Arsenal to wait until next summer to reassess their options regarding the Belgian wide player.

At 30, Trossard is still playing in his prime and might have a few good years left in him. With all things considered, Arsenal’s decision to keep hold of him would be a good move for Arteta as he looks to get the best out of his players across all fronts this season.
