US Thionville Lusitanos clinch National two Group B and promotion to Ligue three

US Thionville Lusitanos clinched the National two Group B title with a 0-0 draw at Colmar on Saturday, confirming promotion to next season's professional Ligue three.

At full time there were emotional celebrations among the squad and travelling support. L'Équipe notes that the club has grown rapidly since 2021.

The triumph was sealed with four matches remaining thanks to a 13-point lead over runners-up Bourges, who lost 0-1 at Feignies/Aulnoye after a 13-match unbeaten run.

Five years on from playing in Régional two, the Moselle side now join the professional ranks.

Formed under their current name in 2021 after the merger of Thionville FC and Thionville ASPSF, the club is chaired by François Ventrici.
