Valencia can reach the Conference League if they beat Barça at Mestalla and Rayo Vallecano and Getafe fail to win, according to AS. They head into the final round with a chance of finishing in the top seven, something few envisaged months ago.

The campaign has been erratic, with no clear playing identity, yet the second half has been strong. In a notional table for the past 18 matches, Valencia would be fourth on 29 points, behind Barça on 45, Real Madrid 38 and Atlético de Madrid 31.

Away form has improved markedly, with five wins in this stretch at Getafe, Levante, Sevilla, Athletic Club and Real Sociedad. At Mestalla, inconsistency has persisted, with eight games yielding four wins, one draw and three defeats.

The first half was bleak, with only 17 of the 57 available points. The figures might have justified sacking the coach, but the club kept faith with Corberán.

There is still no clear identity and a large section of supporters have turned on the manager, voicing anger and calling for his dismissal in recent games. Even so, European qualification remains within reach.
