Valencia trained on Tuesday at Paterna in their second session preparing for Sunday’s 16:15 kick-off against Celta at Mestalla.
According to Superdeporte, Carlos Corberán had Thierry and Gayà available after injuries. Captain Gayà, who fractured his cheekbone away to Sevilla, is working in a protective mask and will also wear it against Celta.
Filip Ugrinic was missing again, feeling renewed discomfort in the patellar tendon in his knee and still not ready to rejoin full training. His chances of featuring on Sunday are shrinking as the week progresses.
His availability will be dictated by how he feels through the sessions before Sunday, however, as of today it appears very difficult for the Swiss to make the squad.
The issue forced him out of Switzerland’s latest call-up, having initially been included, which could complicate his World Cup hopes. This was the final squad before the tournament and a chance for the coach to take stock.
Long-term absentees Diakhaby, Foulquier and Julen remain sidelined, while some internationals have yet to return. Dimitrievski of Macedonia and Cömert of Switzerland are due to rejoin during the week.
