Valencia head to England without Sadiq, Pepelu travels despite knock | OneFootball

Valencia set off for England on Monday afternoon for a pre-season camp without Sadiq, while Pepelu makes the trip despite discomfort.

Sadiq is a late withdrawal with hamstring trouble, with indications of a minor muscle tear, and he will not join the squad in the United Kingdom. La Grada 91.4 reports that Rubén Iranzo will remain at Paterna due to an ankle issue.

Both players picked up their knocks in Saturday’s game against Castellón in Paterna, and neither trained with the group on Monday. Pepelu’s problem is understood to be less serious.

He should begin easing back in at St George’s Park over the coming sessions and, if all goes well, be available for the match at Stoke City’s Bet 365 Stadium on Saturday before the squad returns to València.

Dimitri Foulquier continues individual work on the pitch as he recovers from a left knee injury, and he will not travel. Long-term absentees José Copete and Diego López also remain on separate programmes.

Iranzo’s issue is not thought to be serious, with staff and medical teams opting against risk at this stage. The plan is for him to complete his recovery in Valencia and rejoin the group later in pre-season.
