Valencia are set to bank an add-on after Mosquera’s outstanding first season at Arsenal, which brought the Premier League title but ended with defeat on penalties in the Champions League final.
According to Superdeporte, the defender moved from Mestalla for about €15.5m plus €4m in add-ons, including a clause tied to Arsenal qualifying for the Champions League via the Premier League, which has now triggered.
Mosquera, 21, stepped in at centre-back during Saliba’s early-season absence, and he also covered at right-back in key games.
He started the Champions League final, impressed before the break, then conceded a second-half penalty. Arsenal were beaten on penalties.
Across his debut campaign at the Emirates he made 35 appearances, underlining his prominence.
He has already been called up by Spain’s senior side and is established at the top level. Valencia are beginning to receive further add-ons from his transfer as his value rises.
