Valencia have shifted focus to right-back, after Meunier turned them down, and a reshuffle in goal, with several moves expected.

According to Tribuna Deportiva, Oleksandr Saputin of Zorya Luhansk is best placed to arrive and compete with Stole Dimitrievski. The 22-year-old, 1.97 metres tall, has been tracked for months.

Dimitrievski is entering his third season at Mestalla, and for the first time starts as number one. He had been behind Mamardashvili and Agirrezabala in recent campaigns, but convinced Corberán after a strong second half of last season. The club are also working on an exit for Cristian Rivero, who renewed only a few months ago.

He joined training later after playing for his national team in the first week of June. He has yet to feature in four friendlies and could do so on Saturday against Stoke City.

Academy goalkeeper Vicente Abril has covered the position throughout pre-season, impressing with standout saves against Derby County on Tuesday. Valencia see him as a long-term option, but he needs minutes, so a loan is lined up. Nàstic de Tarragona are best placed, with Mirandés also enquiring.

Abril’s departure is contingent on a senior goalkeeper arriving. Raúl Jiménez would be the third-choice keeper around the first team, while holding a B-team registration. Since Mamardashvili, Valencia have not found stability in goal.
