Valencia’s first January signing, Sadiq, arrived at Paterna after 19:00 yesterday from San Sebastián, with his move set to be made official today.
The clubs reached a definitive agreement early in the morning on a permanent transfer, then finalised the player’s pay for the rest of this season and two more later in the day. According to AS, Sadiq left the training ground with his representative at 20:40 to check into a hotel.
On arrival he underwent initial fitness checks and trained alone in the gym. Today he will join Corberán’s group and complete medical tests. The intention is for him to be in the squad to face Elche on Saturday.
Valencia will pay Real Sociedad a fixed fee of four million euros. Add-ons could take the total to five million euros, including 500,000 euros considered easy to achieve and another 500,000 tied to tougher targets based on Valencia’s collective results and the player’s performance.
Sadiq ends his association with Real Sociedad, who paid 20 million euros to Almería in summer 2022. Valencia hope he can produce his best under Corberán, as he did last season when he scored six goals in 19 matches across league and cup.
