Valencia star reveals he bet Vinícius Jr. €50 he would miss Real Madrid penalty | OneFootball

Valencia star Giorgi Mamardashvili has provided an insight into a bet he made with Real Madrid attacker Vinícius Jr. during the meeting between the sides earlier today.

This came in the buildup to Vinícius taking responsibility of a Real Madrid penalty.

Real Madrid are of course fresh off a surprising and altogether costly defeat on Saturday, which saw Carlo Ancelotti’s troops put to the sword by relegation-battling Valencia.

En route to as much, Vinícius bagged the only goal for Los Blancos, early in the 2nd-half.

The 24-year-old, though, was also responsible for fluffing his lines from the penalty spot early on, his weak effort easily kept out by Giorgi Mamardashvili.

And, owing to as much, the former found himself on the wrong side of a financial wager.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at the Santiago Bernabéu, Valencia no.1 Mamardashvili admitted:

“I bet Vinícius €50 that I would save his penalty kick. He has not paid me (laughs).”
