According to Superdeporte, Valencia will chalk up their 3,000th Primera División match in their next LaLiga outing against Real Mallorca, a landmark that places them fourth for most top-flight games behind Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic Club.

They have 3,836 points all-time, ranking fifth behind Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid and Athletic, which has recently moved above them. That could change soon.

Across 91 top-flight seasons, Valencia have won six league titles, finished runners-up six times and third 10 times. Their record from 2,999 games is 1,303 wins, 718 draws and 978 defeats, including Saturday's loss at Elche.

Their most recent league triumph came in 2004 under Rafa Benítez, who had also delivered the title two years earlier. More recently, and now under Carlos Corberán, they have fought for survival rather than the summit, deepening the disconnect between much of the fanbase and majority owner Peter Lim, who took control in 2014.

Valencia have spent four seasons in Segunda, three before their top-flight debut. Their last second-tier campaign was 1986-87, and this is their 29th consecutive season in Primera.

Their 1,000th league game, in 1970-71, ended in a 3-0 defeat at Atlético Madrid's Manzanares. The 2,000th, in 1999-00, finished 1-1 at Racing Santander, with Gaizka Mendieta scoring a penalty. Mundo Suárez leads Valencia's Primera scoring with 188 in 208 games, ahead of Mario Alberto Kempes on 116, Waldo Machado 115, Fernando Gómez 109 and David Villa 107. Gómez also holds their appearance record with 420.
