The Rio Grande do Sul refereeing commission released the VAR audio from Gre-Nal 451, the Gauchão final second leg at Beira-Rio, which finished 1-1 and confirmed Grêmio as champions after a 3-0 first leg.
Three incidents were reviewed, with referee Rafael Rodrigo Klein conducting two on-field checks that overturned his original calls, including cancelling a penalty given to Alan Patrick.
At four minutes, after Amuzu was penalised for a foul in attack, Ronaldo pushed a Grêmio forward. VAR reviewed the incident and kept the caution, judging it not worthy of a red card.
At 41 minutes, Alan Patrick went down under pressure from Monsalve and Gustavo Martins and a penalty was awarded. After review, officials deemed the contact normal and noted the midfielder was already off balance, so the decision was overturned. Klein also assessed a stamp by Viery on Borré during the stoppage, ruling low intensity and issuing a yellow card to number 44.
In the second half, Klein missed an incident in the Grêmio area and was sent to the monitor. Wagner Leonardo struck Borré in the face with the ball in play, leading to a penalty for Inter and a red card for the defender. Alan Patrick converted after Gustavo Martins had scored for Grêmio in first-half stoppage time to make it 1-1.
