Milan are reportedly interested in pursuing a deal with FC Porto for midfielder Alan Varela in the summer transfer window according to reports in Italy on Monday evening.
Though the January transfer window is still ongoing, Milan are already lining up a handful of targets ahead of the off-season in the summer. The central midfield spot is an area that the Rossoneri want to strengthen and already have two names in mind.
As things stand, Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana are considered ‘undroppable’ from the Milan midfield. Yunus Musah is also on the books but has often featured out on the right wing, while Ismael Bennacer has a long injury record and has not yet become a regular in the 2024-25 season.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia, Varela is one of them. Coach Sergio Conceicao knows him well from their time together at Porto and could use the Portuguese connection to his advantage.
Italy international Samuele Ricci is also an objective for the Rossoneri in the summer, despite the fact that he signed off on a new contract ahead of the January transfer window.
