Vasco da Gama ‘have enquired about’ Hoffenheim defender Arthur Chaves | OneFootball

According to Atenção Vascaínos, Vasco da Gama have enquired about Hoffenheim centre-back Arthur Chaves as they scope defensive additions for 2026.

The 24-year-old Brazilian came through at Avaí and had a stint with Académico de Viseu in Portugal.

He enjoyed his most convincing campaign in 2024/25, becoming a pillar for the German side. Chaves played 34 games, 26 of them in the Bundesliga, and logged more than 2,000 minutes as a regular starter.

This season, a facial injury sustained between October and November sidelined him for several weeks. He subsequently lost his place, featuring among the substitutes in recent December matches.

Chaves is under contract until 2029 and is valued at around R$ 40 million, so any deal would be complicated. Even so, the enquiry signals Vasco’s intent to repatriate players with a track record in major leagues.
