Vasco da Gama face Coritiba without Andrés Gómez for the first time this season, leaving Renato to ponder changes before Wednesday’s ninth-round trip to Couto Pereira, kick-off 20:30.

According to PaponaColina, the head coach is yet to settle on a replacement on the right, after testing Marino Hinestroza and Adson in recent sessions.

Hinestroza, a Colombian winger still adjusting since his arrival, is hoping for a first genuine start. Adson has been used repeatedly under the new boss but has not secured a regular place.

A reshuffle is also on the table, with David potentially moved wider, freeing the middle for Spinelli or Brenner to lead the line. Since coming into São Januário, Renato has relied on the number seven as a fixed reference up front, keeping high-profile recruits on the bench. A call is expected in training by Tuesday, 31 March.

Gómez’s absence underlines his tactical weight. The Colombian has featured in all 17 of Vasco’s matches in 2026, starting 16, with one goal and three assists. Recently on international duty with Colombia, he collected his third yellow card last round and must serve a one-game ban in the interstate meeting on 1 April.
